Curriculum

DUCA curriculum is designed to enhance students critical thinking, sharpen their leadership skills, and teach them to collaborate more effectively. During the five-week program, students are introduced to the different areas of computing offered at the undergraduate level at Drexel University.

Students are exposed to the field through labs, classes, and group work, collaborate with Drexel faculty, and are introduced to Drexel co-op employers, in order to gain a hands-on, career-oriented experience. Throughout the five-week program students also participate in computer studies projects with real-world applications.

DUCA is co-sponsored by The iSchool at Drexel, College of Information Science and Technology and Drexel University’s Department of Computer Science, and receives academic support from other colleges within Drexel University through a newly formed Academic Council. Jeffrey Popyack, Associate Professor and Associate Head for Undergraduate Affairs at the Department of Computer Science, is head of the Academic Council, which is composed of representatives from the iSchool, the College of Engineering, Antionette Westphal College of Media Arts and Design, and the Bennett S. LeBow College of Business.
